Artist Statement

I am a self-taught visual artist based in Michigan, exploring themes of perception, identity, and distortion through bold color, raw texture, and abstraction. My work is rooted in spontaneity and emotional impulse, often blurring the lines between inner psyche and external reality. Using acrylic paint as a base, I also experiment with oil pastels, sand, flour, and other found materials to build dynamic textures and layered surfaces. I do not sketch or plan—I paint in real time, relying on instinct and energy. Each piece captures a moment of becoming.
